IIBFS Postdoctoral Fellowship in Chinese Financial Services, 2011
Background
The International Institute of Banking and Financial Services (IIBFS), formerly the Centre for Financial Services, was established in 1995 with over a £1m in sponsorship monies to create an internationally acclaimed research centre. The Institute benefits by being located in the City of Leeds, the second largest financial city in the UK. IIBFS is part of the University of Leeds and Leeds University Business School. IIBFS focuses on understanding how the primary forces of strategic imperatives, technology and regulation interweave to define the future of the financial services industry.
The Post
This is a new post which has been created to increase IIBFS's capacity in Chinese Financial Services research.
The key purpose of the post is to offer post doctoral researchers in China the opportunity to further develop their research in a leading UK research institute. Our main areas of interest lie in the following:

    • Product Innovation
    • Risk and Regulation
  • Security market
    • Asset Pricing
    • Corporate Governance
    • IPO
    • The Role of Foreign Investors in the Market
  • Insurance and Pensions
  • Derivatives, Securitization and other Product Innovation
  • SME Finance
Other research interests of applicants can be accommodated. The ideal candidate would normally be expected to hold a PhD degree recently (within one year from the start day) in an accounting, finance, economics or related social science discipline from a leading university. A PhD degree with high quality thesis is essential as is a record of research publication.
This is a fixed-term position for 1 year with a possibility of 1 year extension. It will be based in Leeds, UK. The fellowship is aimed at enrolment between January 2011 and June 2011. It covers return flights from China to UK and bench fees, plus an annual stipend of approximately £8,400. The post will be appointed to the IIBFS, the University of Leeds.
Interviews will be held in December 2010 in Beijing.
